Wellbeing at Work

We care about our people not just in their roles, but as individuals. At Topps Group, wellbeing is an important part of how we work. We want everyone to feel supported, listened to, and able to bring their best self to work.

With over 50 mental health first aiders and our 24/7 employee assistance programme to flexible working options and wellbeing initiatives, we’re always looking for ways to help our teams feel balanced and cared for.

We know that when our colleagues feel good, they do great things for themselves, for each other, and for our customers.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a huge focus for our company. We’re committed to sourcing sustainable products, conducting ethical audits of suppliers and keeping products and materials in use for as long as possible, to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible.  

And it’s not just our products that we’re making more sustainable: it’s our business operation too. We’re constantly improving our product packaging, greening our energy use and maximising waste recycling. Our goal is to provide great value and customer experience while reducing our environmental impact.

In 2022 we opened our first eco-friendly Topps Tiles store and this year we are becoming the first tile retailer to use entirely recyclable adhesive bags! This means nearly 1.4 million bags which previously would have gone to landfill can now be fully recycled!

Colleague Voice

At the heart of our culture is a commitment to listening, learning, and growing together. We believe every colleague should feel heard, valued, and empowered to shape our workplace.

Team Talk is our internal forum where colleagues connect, share ideas, and collaborate across teams. It’s a space for open dialogue, celebrating success, and sparking innovation. Your Voice, our annual employee survey, gives everyone the opportunity to share honest feedback about their experience. The insights we gain help us make meaningful improvements and ensure our workplace continues to evolve in ways that matter most to our people.

Together, these platforms help us build a workplace where every voice counts.

Charity

Over the decades, charity fundraising has been a large part of the Topps way. So far, we have raised over 2.5 MILLION for good causes including Help for Heroes, Asthma UK and Macmillan Cancer Support. In January 2022 colleagues voted Alzheimer’s Society to be our new charity partner and as we near the end of 2025 we have raised well over £650k already!

Alzheimer’s UK are the leading dementia charity. They campaign for change, fund research to find better treatments, and support people living with dementia. There are currently 900,000 people in the UK living with dementia and this is set to rise to 1 million by 2025. Through our partnership we are aiming to raise £1 million for families affected by dementia across the UK.

Many of our donations come from Pennies digital charity box, where customers are invited to roundup their purchase to the nearest pint with the small change going to charity. With the average donation of around 35p, these donations quickly add up and in 8 years our customers have donated over a million pounds in small change!
