We are currently recruiting for a Shift Supervisor (2pm - 10pm) to join our Warehouse operation. Working as part of, and in support of the Shift Management team, you will be actively seeking to improve overall standards, productivity & morale of the shift.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, setting direction for the shift and ensuring an efficient, controlled workflow throughout the operation.
- Own the creation, communication, and delivery of an accurate and cost‑effective labour plan, aligned to forecast and actual volumes, ensuring appropriate resource allocation across the shift.
- Set the shift plan, priorities, and operational focus to ensure the pick and pack operation delivers against agreed SLAs, quality, safety, and cost targets.
- Act as the owner and point of accountability for all shift KPIs, maintaining strong operational control and taking timely corrective action to ensure targets are achieved.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and minimise stock loss by controlling and auditing put‑away, replenishment, and bulk movement activities.
- Manage the warehouse operational footprint, ensuring space is used effectively and that inbound and outbound loading/unloading is completed accurately and to scheduled times.
- Conduct and oversee quality control checks on inbound and outbound deliveries, ensuring compliance with agreed standards and customer requirements.
- Ensure stock replenishment activities are completed accurately and within required timescales to maintain operational continuity.
- Provide structured performance feedback, coach and develop Team Leaders, and manage underperformance through a consistent, fair, and documented disciplinary process.
- Lead continuous improvement activity, owning initiatives that reduce costs, improve service levels, enhance productivity, and drive operational efficiency.
- Review, maintain, and improve warehouse processes to reduce waste, improve flow, and mitigate risk of injury, ensuring processes are documented and followed.
- Promote strong communication and collaboration across the shift, setting clear expectations and reinforcing a positive and safety‑focused working culture.
- Own risk assessment activity related to manual handling, equipment operation, ergonomics, and workplace layout; identify, implement, and document safer ways of working.
- Control and maintain a structured documentation schedule to ensure ongoing compliance with Health & Safety and audit requirements.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment is safe and compliant by controlling service, inspection, and maintenance schedules for all shift‑used equipment.
- Ensure all operatives are issued with, trained on, and consistently wear appropriate PPE in line with site and legal requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong understanding of warehouse and logistics operations within a fast‑paced environment
- Proven leadership capability, with the ability to lead, coach, and hold others to account
- Clear and effective communication skills at all levels
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage competing operational demands
- Experience supervising teams or operational processes within a logistics or warehouse setting
- Strong drive to achieve and exceed SLA, productivity, quality, and safety targets
